چکیده

We say that a tree T is an S-Steiner if S⊆V(T) and hypergraph hypertree it can be trimmed to tree. prove NP-complete decide, given H some S⊆V(H), whether there subhypergraph of which hypertree. As corollaries, we give two negative results for Steiner orientation problems in hypergraphs. Firstly, show H, r∈V(H) this has every vertex S reachable from r. Secondly, any vertices are mutually each other. This answers longstanding open question the Egerváry Research group. further decide well-balanced orientation. On positive side, problem finding first solved polynomial time number terminals |S| fixed.

Linear connectivity problems in directed hypergraphs

We introduce a notion of hyperconnection (formally called L-hyperpath) between vertices in a directed hypergraph and relate this notion to existing notions of hyperpaths in directed hypergraphs. We show that some interesting questions in problem domains such as distributed secret sharing and routing in packet filtered networks are basically questions about the existence of L-hyperpaths in direc...

Directed Steiner Problems with Connectivity Constraints

We present a generalization of the Steiner problem in a directed graph. Given nonnegative weights on the arcs, the problem is to find a minimum weight subset F of the arc set such that the subgraph induced by F contains a given number of arc-disjoint directed paths from a certain root node to each given terminal node. Some applications of the problem are discussed and properties of associated p...

Solving group Steiner problems as Steiner problems

The generalized spanning tree or group Steiner problem (GSP) is a generalization of the Steiner problem in graphs (SPG): one requires a tree spanning (at least) one vertex of each subset, given in a family of vertex subsets, while minimizing the sum of the corresponding edge costs. Specialized solution procedures have been developed for this problem. In this paper we investigate the performance...
